08/27/2015 Day 239 – A Song My Parents Would Play During Parties

Well, my parents aren’t roaring party throwers, at least they haven’t been since I’ve been alive, so I’m not sure of a song that they would play during a party.

But, I would guess that it would be a song from the 1970’s, since those were their prime younger years (age 15-30 throughout the decade).

Perhaps something like this 1974 hit, from Canadian band Bachman-Turner Overdrive, “Takin’ Care of Business”

08/26/2015 Day 238 – A Song From An Artist/Band Whose T-Shirt I Own

Well, I wish I had an actual t-shirt from an artist that has actually been worn by them, but unfortunately that is not the case. The closest I come to that is t-shirts from concert tours.

At one time, I had a t-shirt from this band. They have yet to make an appearance on this challenge so now is the time.

Here is 2004’s Mr. Brightside from The Killers.

08/07/2015 Day 219 – Favourite Sing-Along (Everybody Sing Now) Song

I know there are songs out there where everybody joins in, according to the music and lyrics, such as “SeƱorita” by Justin Timberlake. But, for the life of me I can’t remember any others, and therefore I’m having trouble finding a favourite!

However, one of my favourite anthem songs that I know always gets a crowd to sing/shout along to, is this gem here from 1987 – it’s a fantastic rock song and has one of the best and most memorable choruses in rock music history in my opinion.

Here is “Livin’ On A Prayer” by Bon Jovi

07/02/2015 Day 183 – A Song From Another Favourite Band

Well, this band has been a favourite of mine for about 10 years now. I even saw them perform in concert when I was 16/17 years old, and they were awesome! There album, From Under The Cork Tree, was definitely an album I would play on repeat, and especially helped me get through those moments of teen angst!

Fall Out Boy’s Pete Went and Patrick Stump were probably the a couple of the first non-boy band, yet still male, musicians that I really learned the name of! I even had Fall Out Boy posters on my bedroom wall, right next to The Killers and the All-American Rejects, who were my other favourite bands of that time.

So, what song should I pick? Well, let’s go with the first Fall Out Boy song I heard, because it’s the song that started it all…

Here is “Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down”

05/12/2015 Day 132 – Song That You Air Guitar To Every Time You Hear It

Um, do I ever air guitar? Not really…

So, because I really like this song AND it’s mentioned on Buzzfeed’s list “44 Songs You Have to Air Guitar To Before You Die”, I choose Boston’s More Than A Feeling.

It actually is a pretty great guitar song. So, let’s get those fingers ready and air guitar away!!

Be careful…you just might not be able to stop listening and playing along!
