Well, my parents aren’t roaring party throwers, at least they haven’t been since I’ve been alive, so I’m not sure of a song that they would play during a party.
But, I would guess that it would be a song from the 1970’s, since those were their prime younger years (age 15-30 throughout the decade).
Perhaps something like this 1974 hit, from Canadian band Bachman-Turner Overdrive, “Takin’ Care of Business”
Well, thanks song challenge for assuming that your participants all have significant others. What are us single (and proud) people supposed to do?!
So, I’m going to change today’s challenge to:
What’s the first song your iTunes/iPod chooses on shuffle?
Here it is:
Can’t Breathe – Fefe Dobson
How ironic that this song is about a sad break-up, and feeling like you can’t live without that person:
This band doesn’t necessarily have to be still together, but if they reunited (which could easily be done because they are brothers) and released new music, I would be intrigued. Plus, they are Canadian so it would just be a boost for our music industry.
So what do you say Scott, Clint, Bob, and Dave Moffatt? How about some new music?
Until then, let’s just enjoy…
Bang Bang Boom by The Moffatts
I think I’m most inspired by artists who can have long, successful careers doing the one thing they love. I’m not going to choose an artist who’s been an actor, or a dancer, or an author, or a comedian, or all of the above. (Atleast as far as I know).
This is an artist who has just sang, and performed, and recorded albums, and written songs. But she’s not just a musician. She’s a mother and a wife and a businesswomen.
The artist who inspires me is Celine Dion, and this is one of my favourite songs by her.
“That’s The Way it is” has great lyrics and a great sound. It’s one of my favourites to belt out in the car, and it always motivates me to just keep taking challenges as they come, because sometimes that’s just the way it is.
I have mentioned before how much I love watching lip-syncing videos. Well, here is another awesome one featuring TOM HANKS! I wasn’t sold on this song until I saw the music video, and then I loved that Tom Hanks, Carly Rae Jepsen, and even Justin Bieber are grooving and singing along at the end! I don’t care how cheesy it is, I love it! Plus, you can never beat scenes where people are dancing in the street, I mean, what’s better than that?!
Can you pick up on how excited I am about today’s challenge?!?!
So here is one of my instant favourite music videos – Carly Rae Jepsen’s “I Really Like You”
