I don’t remember what the ad was for but this is a song that I know I first heard in a commercial…
(Upon research, it was featured in a Clean & Clear commercial).
The song is Wakin’ Up to Love – Shanna Crooks
There are so many to choose from! My “Just Dance” playlist has over 1000 songs on it, and is filled with upbeat music that motivates me to move.
So, I’m going to choose a song that my iPod has actually be choosing for my almost every day I’ve worked out for the past two weeks. I’m serious. Each day I put the playlist on random shuffle and this song has almost always been choosen during my 45-minute workout.
It’s a song from 1983, and it is a song that I love. It’s lyrics are powerful, strong, motivational, and true. At least, I feel that way.
Here is Love is a Battlefield by Pat Benatar.
I don’t even remember how or why this is me and my best friend Denise’s song. It’s a very unpredictable choice for twenty-something girls to choose as their friendship theme song – Considering it’s from 1965, which is more than twenty years before either of us were born and that It’s also a love song for the famous couple that sang it.
However, this song is our song and it will always have that special significance for me. ❤
I Got You Babe – Sonny & Cher
Well, this is a broadway classic from Les Miserables, and this particular version is performed by Lea Michele and Idina Menzel, and was featured on an episode of Glee.
I adore both of these ladies. I first saw Idina Menzel in the motion picture version of Rent, and Lea caught my attention from the very first episode of Glee. Today, they continue to prove how mega talented they are and they have both solidified their spots in my musical heart. Plus, there is a kind of uncanny resemblance between the two women, which made their roles as mother/daughter on Glee even that much more believable!
Here is Lea Michele and Idina Menzel, performing “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Miserables, as featured on Glee.
While I will admit that my obsession has lessened in the past few years, this lady will always be number one in my mind and my heart. She is hugely talented, strong-willed, independent, bold, and innovative. She continues to prove herself as a young woman, even when she no longer has to. The love for her fans that she shows is indescribable. She’s truly a role model to every young person out there that you can succeed if you work hard, play hard, and shake off the ridiculousness that is what some people say about you. After all, their likely just jealous anyways. 😉
This girl is Taylor Swift, one of my favourite songs off of her newest album 1989 (which is incredible and if you are reading this and you still haven’t listened to her album, GO DO IT NOW!) And, if you follow this blog daily and you know that only just a few days ago I said that her album Red was my all-time favourite, well it is, but 1989 is still amazing.
Here is Taylor Swift performing “Out of the Woods” live last October.
